The Top 5 Famous Cadillacs in the Movies

If you know anything about RB Auto Service, you know we specialize in Cadillac and Corvette automotive service and repair. We love both! So much so, we’ve got two blog posts dedicated to these vehicles in the movies. This is the post about Cadillac automobiles used in cinema, and you’re going to love this trip down memory lane if you’ve seen any of the movies listed below. Let’s start at five and end at one.

1971’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Directed by Terry Gilliam and considered a cult classic, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas featured a 1971 Fleetwood Eldorado, driven nearly to death by Johnny Depp and Benecio Del Toro. This “White Whale,” as it was called in the movie endured off-road desert driving and physical abuse throughout the movie. We didn’t like that part but we loved the car!

1979’s The Muppet Movie

Who doesn’t love the Muppets? Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the gang earned their Hollywood stripes when they were awarded their own film in 1979. The movie itself was chalked full of stars, including Bob Hope, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, and even Orson Welles. We loved Fozzie Bear’s 1959 black Cadillac Fleetwood the best, though.

1990’s Goodfellas

Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Joe Pesci, and Lorraine Bracco explode off the screen in this 1990s gangster flick directed by, you guessed it, Marin Scorsese. A minor character in the film, Johnny Roastbeef, caught our attention, however. Once he comes into money, he goes out against his mob boss’ advice and buys a 1979 hot pink Cadillac Coupe DeVille.

1989’s Pink Cadillac

Speaking of pink Cadillacs, the 1989 movie of the same name honored a pink 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible and, man, was that car a beauty! The movie itself, starring Clint Eastwood and Bernadette Peters, was a flop, but the pink Cadillac lives on in TV, film, and even song. The Caddie used in the film auctioned for $83,800 in 2014.

1984’s Ghostbusters

No really, we’re serious. There are plenty of stunning classic and new Cadillacs featured in films, but the reason why Ghostbusters made it to the top of our list is where else can you see a tricked-out 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance in the movies? You probably didn’t even realize that Ecto-1 was a Cadillac. Supercharged kudos if you did!

There you have it! RB Auto Service’s top five movie-star Cadillacs. Bring your Caddie into our Pinellas Park, FL, shop for all of your service and repair needs.
